Some of our Testimonials

"I really did just want to say thank you, for the past several years. Having a trusted, safe, sensible space to talk things through has made the world of difference to me and even when I'm not sure where to turn I knew it would help to just come and talk things through with you. Your patience, compassion and kindness I know is what anyone would expect from a professional but it really comes through and I'm so grateful that time and time again you've accepted me as I am. Quite literally I am not the same person from when we first met and having your support to do the work to recover myself and my life is so much appreciated" Maidstone

"You were my counsellor when I had a breakdown with OCD about a year and a half ago. I work for the 999 side of the ambulance service and had CBT with you which has helped me with my OCD compulsions tenfold... I am now in a much better place mentally and no longer feel nearly as stressed at work after all your support and guidance. I just wanted to write to you and thank you. I'll be recommending you to anyone in the NHS ambulance service on the 999 side of it that opens up to me, particularly with diagnosed or similar compulsions/experiences. Thank you again" Maidstone

"I would like to say a huge thank you for our wonderful sessions together earlier this year. We dug a lot of things up together and worked through them beautifully. I am extremely grateful and will recommend you to anyone seeking help. We got married in July and had the best day of our lives the situation that caused me to seek therapy is no longer hanging over me, and I feel free to enjoy our marriage without the pain from the past interfering with it. Thank you for your help with this, I am forever thankful" Medway

" I wanted to say thank you (again) for the incredible counselling support you gave me last year........ There is a big gulf between suicidal ideation & actually killing yourself but this time I had a plan. I had a method. I had a motive.......What made 2019 different to all my other periods of being depressed wasn't how deep & dark I fell, but how much I worked to really understand why and what was happening. Opening myself up to pain I had locked away. Exploring the very depths of my soul & my mind. I put the work in and it has paid off. EMDR is probably the best therapy I've ever had in my life it is amazing. From the darkest moments to really feeling that I actually believe some of those things I couldn't even contemplate before. Without a doubt, I'm much more equipped now than I have ever been. This past year has enriched my life so much" Anonymous

"I was a client of yours last year and I just wanted to message you to say thank you. The support you gave made a massive difference and helped put everything into perspective. I've now got a great new job doing what I enjoy with nice people, we've bought our house and we had our baby son just under six weeks ago. You helped me see what is important." Anonymous

"Hi C I just wanted to thank you for the counselling over the past couple of months. You have really helped me and I am pleased to say that I've been doing a lot better and really making a conscious effort to remind myself that I cannot control everything and I'm not to blame for others and their thoughts. Many thanks again". J. Maidstone

"My counsellor was really amazing, I was in a dreadful mental state when I first went to see C and had debilitating panic attacks many times a day, her wealth of knowledge and calm manner, during my sessions were totally needed by me at that time, I learned to trust her completely and felt safe when I was in a panic attack whilst in the sessions, I also liked the fact that she was slightly older and seemed like she had been around for a long time, and that nothing seemed to phase her. Thank you for all your support it has been a godsend for me from my first telephone call to my last session. Thank you." N. Maidstone

"I found C to be completely approachable and built a really good relationship with her. We worked well together and understood each other. C worked hard to help me, to remember the fine details and to ensure I was looking at things as positively as possible, I have no doubt that the lessons I learnt during our time together will have an impact for the rest of my life." E. Sittingbourne

"Dear Carolyn I wanted to say thank you for all your help. Especially as I didn't know which way to turn. I would be lying if I said I was not afraid with the way things were going. I appreciate you agreeing to help me. You are fortunate as you do a job that really helps people and makes a difference. Thank you again for your counselling it has made a big difference to me." J. Maidstone

"Carolyn I am emailing with an update, I am pleased to say that my mum is doing really well. Shortly after her last session with you, she went for a short stay with her sister and a period of separation from her usual environment. Somehow when she returned she was a different person with a different outlook. Since then mum has turned her life around- she now attends a gym 3 times a week and goes to a weekly knitting group where she has made friends. She is also a permanent carer for her mother. We are so proud of her for her courage and strength and persistence to try to feel better and manage her mental health. Many of these things she has done with encouragement but largely off her own steam. She is now confident happy and carefree. Mum has had the support of the family and had her medication monitored along the way but mum specially asked me to contact you to say thank you. Although at the time mum could not see the support she had, she does now and realises it was both professional and family support that helped her break out of a mental lock and onto a better health path. she has also been discharged from the mental health centre and is back under her own GP. Considering that she could not get out of bed or leave the house mum is now social and lives a full and independent life, managing everyday tasks and tackling problems on her own. Her anxiety is gone and she believes in herself more. She recently took a trip with her sister and cousins to London to the theatre and stay in a hotel which she enjoyed very much. Mum said if she was able to recover when depression was so bad then maybe it will give hope to others who are feeling like it's hopeless. Mum knows now that if her depression returns in the future that she has the capacity to overcome it. It is thanks to professional help like yours, family help, changing her behaviour and monitoring medication that has brought about the change. Thank you so much for your help CBT was certainly the start to feeling proactive about mental health." L & J. Maidstone

"Look here,Furii said. "I never promised you a rose garden. I never promised you perfect justice...and I never promised you peace or happiness. My help is so that you can be free to fight for all these things. The only reality I offer is challenge, and being well is being free to accept it or not at whatever level you are capable. I never promise lies, and the rose-garden world of perfection is a lie -and a bore too!"
